Our story
Our small family-run business began as a little experiment… Having a Japanese
mother, I have eaten and loved seaweed my whole life. Not so my Australian
husband or our young son, who could not imagine eating that slimy stuff from the
beach.

After studying the incredible health benefits of seaweed, I decided to find ways to
sneak this superfood into family meals and snacks.

The experiment was a big success. It turned out that they loved the dash of
sea-saltiness and savoury umami that seaweed adds to foods. Soon I was baking
seawood shortbread for friends, and hiding seaweed in every course at dinner
parties (think dulse-laced spaghetti, and nori chocolate mousse).

Everyone loved the taste. And they were shocked when I admitted the secret
integredient... seaweed!

After teaming up with my seaweed-convert husband, our little business was born.



AS THE BUSINESS IDEA DEVELOPED, WE RESOLVED TO MAKE OUR OFFERINGS GLUTEN-FREE, VEGAN, AND DAIRY-FREE. SO THEY’RE BETTER FOR YOU, AND CATER TO DIETARY SENSITIVITIES.

WE ARE ALSO COMMITTED TO HARVESTING ONLY SEAWEEDS THAT ARE SUSTAINABLY GROWN IN THE PUREST MOST PRISTINE WATERS.
